How long will it take to install? TeleBeam installation can usually be carried out in one week, excluding finishings.

Do I need special equipment? You will need scaffolding for one side of the house - costs for this vary from region to region.

What about the pitch of my roof? Telebeam works for any roof pitch.

How much headroom do I need? The minimum headroom at the highest point of the loft needs to be a minimum of 2.4 metres.

Do I need planning permission? Normally Planning Permission would not be required for a loft conversion unless the property is in a Conservation Area, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or a National Park. It is advisable to check with your Local Authority and also check whether any special Planning Conditions were imposed on the property when the original Planning Permission for the house was granted.

What about building regulations approval? Building Regulations approval is required for a loft conversion to check fire safety, insulation standards, staircase details and structural stability. TeleBeam has achieved LABC (Local Authority Building Control) National Type Approval for structural stability and will be accepted automatically as long as the situation is within the loading and span constraints.

What size of loft does it fit? Current limit of span is 7 metres between outside walls. A wider span of up to 8 metres has been designed and will become available in the future.

Tackling a loft conversion requires considerable building competence - if you are in any doubt you should not tackle it without the help and advice of a suitably qualified builder
